Completion and Submission the Proposal Report 

List of Activity:

Make the final project proposal that should be submitted to the supervisor
  • To complete the Scheme of Work (SOW) for FYP1
  • Make the Final Project Proposal that should be sent to the Supervisor

WEEK 13

Title of Activity:

Meet supervisor to show draft of slide presentation so that the supervisor will comment and checked first if any correction before the Presentation Day

I have be accessed by Madam Johara & DR Jinsoo Jeong and Alhamdulillah the presentation run smoothly on that Day

Student have to attend the Final Year Project Presentation  at Dewan Gemilang, UNIKL BMI on Wednesday at 2.30 pm.The FYP1 have to prepare slide presentation of their project to be presented.

Conclusion:

WEEK 12

Title of Activity:

Conclusion & briefing fyp1 for the last time 


List of Activity:

a week before presentation day , student have to attend the Final Year Project briefing at TTL1, Wednesday at 2.30 pm.The briefing was conducted by Madam Nulida Binti Aziz.. The FYP committee have briefed to us about:
  • Do the slideshow that will be used in the presentation
  • To know the format of the slide presentation
  • Learn a proper how to present the project on the Presentation Day 

Conclusion:

By this week, i learn how to make a good  slideshow presentation and proposal report for the Final Year Project 1.

WEEK 10

Title of Activity:

To explore and understand what the meaning of  APPS SOFTWARE that want to develop in this project which is " Attendance Management System Through Apps Software "

APPS SOFTWARE

  • It support by magnetic code compiler and is a wireless system using non wire 
  • This project want to renovate system using wireless communication which is Bluetooth in terms of reader and system
  • Reader just only send the student identification where Bluetooth send the system to smartphone. By activated the Bluetooth, the student identification and time can be recorded

By this week, i learn and do the research about the Apps Software. Also get know what their application that be used in this Attendance Management System

WEEK 9

Title of Activity:

  • Make a methodology for this project and do research about the software  that have been used
  • To develop new technology invention by using  MAGNET CODE INNOVATION

List of Activity:

Research which software is suitable to be used in this Project

MAGNETIC CODE COMPILER 
                     
Magnetic code compiler has be chosen as a software .

  • Magnet code is a prototyping platform to develop App for control purpose 
  • The platform is installed in the Smartphone with a Microcontroller 
  • Data can be transfer to the smartphone through a Bluetooth Communication. Through the commands, user can easily control any module in the Smartphone interface. Magnet Code also provides user friendly graphical user interface. User can easily create their layout or create their own button for manage their controller such as in this project i need to use the button START, LATE, STOP,  REPORT, EMAIL for manage this student absentees project  
  • User will press the START for the student taking the attendance when coming to the class. Then smartphone interface will display their  (ID,NAME,INSTITUTE and PHONE number)
  • The next student scan the card so the information will display, followed by third student  and this one is invalid user. So lecturer will press the button LATE to indicate the student coming LATE.
  • When the class is over, the user will pressed the STOP button and show the REPORT of the database link .
  • Then the attendance list data will display in the excel form. So user can see the data, time and all the student information and can sent the record attendance through EMAIL so that attachment of that report can be received there .

The system that want to create by using Magnet Code Compiler:
  •  The information that is taken from RFID detector is sent to the Magnetcode app in the smartphone via Bluetooth.The sent data would be saved in excel file and it can viewed in the smartphone as well as be emailed to a 3rd party using the Magnetcode app.
  • This system focus for the lecturer used in taking the attendance instead of using attendance sheet.
                                           
C LANGUAGES:

Also use C languages for the controller because :

  • it less time consuming and much easier to write 
  • C is easier to modify and update 
  • can use code available in function libraries 
  • C code is portable to other microcontroller

WEEK 8

Title of Activity:

 To identify and make researches about the component to be used 

List of Activity:


RFID TECHNOLOGY
  • known as Radio Frequency Identifcation that makes use non-contact radio frequency electromagnetic fields to transfer data.
  • RFID technology is similar to barcode technology, but uses radiowaves to capture data from tag
  • Can be used in different application

RFID TAG 
  • uses radio waves to capture data from tags 
  • Tag have 2 types which is passive reader active tag and active reader passive tags .
  • Can be detected as long as they are within the range of RFID reader
  • Some of tags require battery but most of the tags run without a battery and they work on the principle of electromagnetic induction

BLUETOOTH TECHNOLOGY 
  •  Bluetooth device is use to transmit the data into the smartphone. Bluetooth acts as a transmitter  to sent the data whereas smartphone act as a receiver for collecting the data 

SMARTPHONE APPS 
  • The system use apps which is Magnet code in the smartphone. Magnet code is a software to build an apps. Therefore, we can created the apps interface in the smartphone by using this software .


Conclusion:

By this week, i need to research about the component that want to used in this project such as RFID , their wireless communication which is Bluetooth  and getting know their operation well.

WEEK 7

Title of Activity:

Produce the flowchart for this project which is "ATTENDANCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM THROUGH APPS SOFTWARE"  to clearly understand about the flow of this system .

  • To understand the operation system of this project 
  • To produce the flowchart for Attendance Management System ( AMS )

Conclusion:

 Flowchart explanation :

1) RFID tag will be touch to the RFID reader so it can read the student data
2) Then the information of student will be send to the Microcontroller and Microcontroller will control/process whether this student come early or late
3) If early, it will display the student data. If late, it will display invalid student. Then the buzzer and Led will turn On for 2 second.
4) After the buzzer and Led on , all the information will be send to the Smartphone by using wireless communication which is Bluetooth 
5) Then Smartphone Interface will display the student data and all this student data will be convert to the excel.
6) Lastly all the information of the students will received by email

WEEK 5

Title of Activity:

Further do some research to clearly understand the operation about this project that are given by my supervisor. Also looking the other previous  "Attendance Management System" to see how they manage their Attendance System in their project.

Conclusion :

The objective have be made by research the application system technology nowadays. As we can see nowadays,app software for Smartphone has been tremendously explored for remote control application. One of the great demand on app is Student Attendance System. The process to monitor the attendance becomes simple and fast. 

  • Students use simply his/her student card to touch RFID reader. The code is read by the RFID reader and convert the code for student number in Decimal 
  • This code is immediately transferred via wireless devices (Bluetooth) and saved in Hand-phone memory
  • Finally the complete list of students is compiled and saved

WEEK 4

Title of Activity:

Understand the block diagram of this project and their working process also further do some research on the internet about "Attendance Management System Through Apps Software"

  • To understand the basic working principle of this project
  • To come out with draft design of the block diagram of the project

Conclusion :

Block Diagram for this project which is "Attendance Management System Through Apps software" was created

ATTENDANCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM THROUGH APPS SOFTWARE 

The system able to take the attendance by using Smartphone Apps. This project is done gradually which is the first step is focused on the RFID, then a Micro-controller and the last stage is display on the Smartphone Apps Interface as their output to completing the whole system. In addition, Microsoft excel will be implemented in this project to converts all Absentees data of Students from Data base interface



Flow and Component to develop Attendance System Through Apps Software 

  • This system consists of RFID card, RFID reader, Micro-controller, Buzzer, LED and also smartphone interfacing. 
  • RFID tag must be touch to the RFID reader so that the code can be read by the RFID reader and convert the code for student into decimal. 
  • Then the data will be sent to the Micro-controller. 
  • The buzzer and led will turn on. 
  • At the same time, it will send the data to the smartphone. This code immediately transffered via wireless device which is Bluetooth and saved it in smartphone memory. 
  • Finally the complete list of students is compiled and saved automatically and it make the process of monitoring the attendance become simpler and easier

WEEK 1

Title of Activity:

Final Year Project (FYP 1) briefing at TTL 1 by Madam Nurlida and the FYP committees. The highlighted topic is guide to find suitable FYP title and to find appropriate FYP supervisor .


List of Activity:

The first week student have to attend the Final Year Project briefing at TTL1, Wednesday at 2.30 pm.The briefing was conducted by Madam Nulida Binti Aziz.. The FYP committee have briefed to us about:
  • Introduction of Final Year Project.
  • Title selection.
  • Progress of logbook/blog(weekly)
  • Supervisor selection.

Conclusion:

In the first week, students are required to select their title by their own ideas or suggested by the supervisor. It is important for students to understand the objectives of FYP module. The briefing guide on how to find suitable FYP title, that need to be registered before week 4. Student also required to search for available lecturer to be a FYP supervisor to get the title registered. All progress regarding FYP are required to record in logbook or blog.
